Windows 7 high latency fix
Posted by on 14 August 2013 04:41 PM

To resolve some of the high latency issues in Windows 7, please try the following Registry fixes.

  1. Navigate to your Start Menu
  2. Open regedit by typing "regedit" (without the quotes) into the search and hitting Enter on your keyboard.
  3. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile
  4. There will be an entry for network performance throttling, default value is 10; set it to FFFFFFFF hex (willl look like 0xFFFFFFFF to the right of the entry)
  5. Reboot

Be careful when using the registry editor, any unwanted changes can corrupt your Operating System.
